China and Hong Kong back Omiino's VASSP solutions

Belfast, December 2nd 2008... Omiino's VASSPs have continued to acquire momentum on the world market, especially in the shadow of current economic pressures on telecommunications companies to retain shareholder value.  The Omiino VASSP solution addresses the big economic questions facing the industry while tackling the continuing technology issues of providing functionality along with field programmability.  For the first time the telecommunications industry can benefit from a solution that provides compatibility with legacy systems, while offering a development path with flexibility, all at a price that positively contributes to shareholder value.

The positive reaction and backing for Omiino has been fully demonstrated on a global basis; this week coming in the form of significant engagement from Asia.  Gary Hamilton, Omiino's CEO, is currently visiting key telecommunications companies in China, as part of a Northern Ireland trade mission, organised by Invest NI.  Earlier this week, he commented on his busy schedule, "interest in our VASSP solution in Asia has been tremendous and confirmed by the immenent usage of our VSSPs that I have been discussing with our clients", he added, "the dilemma for the industry is to continue to expand to meet consumer demand, while utilising as much of the legacy network as possible, and to do all this in an uncertain economic environment.  Omiino are able to offer a genuine solution while offering unequalled speed to market."

Omiino have heralded a new era for virtual ASSPs, with the launch of a range of unique products that deliver highly efficient solutions for specific, packet optical network (P-OTN) transport applications, whether PDH or NG-SDH, Ethernet or OTN, 2MBit to 40GBits or beyond.
