Omiino was founded by a team of telecommunications and semiconductor specialists employing senior alumni from companies such as Nortel, Flextronics, Conexant, STC and Amphion Semiconductor. The senior management team has significant experience in international, high growth businesses.
The Board
Chairman - Dr Bryan Keating
Bryan is (Non-Executive) Chairman of the Board at Omiino. With over 20 years experience in developing new companies, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the business. Bryan is also Chairman of Andor Technology PLC, Mail Distiller Ltd and Executive Chairman of Axis Three Ltd. Bryan serves on the Board of Invest NI, is Director of Investment Belfast Ltd and is also Chairman of the Advisory Board of the NI Centre for Entrepreneurship. Bryan was recently awarded the prestigious, Queens Award for Enterprise Promotion.
Chief Executive Officer - Gary Hamilton
Gary Hamilton is a seasoned professional with over 19 years of knowledge and experience in the Telecoms Industry. Working to the highest levels of responsibility and accountability within blue chip companies, he has successfully built sales channels, established marketing initiatives, delivered sales contracts, negotiated license agreements and delivered full programmes.
Gary has travelled throughout his career working for extended periods in UK, US and Canada. Frequent shorter sales engagements in China, US, EU and India have established a global contact base across a wide spectrum of functional roles within key telecoms operators, equipment manufacturers, design sites and silicon and software vendors.
Gary is active in steering and promoting ‘Northern Ireland PLC\' through his position on the UU Industrial Liaison Committee and close links with QUB Engineering group, Invest NI and his associations with the wider family of High Tech companies in Northern Ireland.
Chief Technical Officer - Mark Carson
Mark has worked in the requirements, architecture, design, implementation and test of telecoms equipment and related silicon for over 19 years. He has been responsible for the definition of multiple innovative and highly successful telecoms products and has worked with and been involved in, the specification of a broad range of new and emerging standards.
Mark has travelled extensively, engaging directly with customers and partners. He is in regular discussion with the system architects and key individuals of the leading companies in the fields of telecoms and programmable logic.
Mark has a global reputation as an innovator and has been rewarded and recognised for his outstanding technical abilities and contributions. He currently holds 6 patents with a further 14 in the pipeline. He holds distinctions in Science and Engineering Masters from Queens University, Belfast and the University of Ulster at Jordanstown.
Chief Operating Officer - Andrew Brown
Andrew has worked for both multi-national telecoms equipment manufacturers and fab-less semiconductor providers; as well as providing essential knowledge and experience to a Belfast based Silicon IP Provider. He has played roles as diverse as global business manager, silicon design specialist and FPGA architect; and has directed major contracts with companies such as Intel, L-3 Communications, and Sony.
Andrew is experienced in the management of large complex design projects, motivation of highly productive teams, and is noted for delivering on time, within budget and to the highest levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
Andrew has travelled extensively to customer sites worldwide to develop business relationships and to support the integration of complex. He has a first class honours degree in Electronic Systems from the University of Ulster.
Non-Executive Director - Paul Moorhead
Paul has over 20 years experience of software development working in the telecommunications and enterprise software sectors. He graduated from Queens University Belfast with First Class Honours in Computer Science and Physics and followed this with post-graduate studies in Atomic & Molecular Physics.
Paul began his career working in BT as a developer, designer and ultimately programme manager for a wide variety of operational support systems. Subsequently
Paul worked as Director of Product Engineering at Nortel Networks, with responsibility for a product which won the Queen\'s Award for Industry in the Innovation category. As VP Product Development for Openwave Systems, Paul managed 220 employees across Belfast, US, Japan and India with a development spend of $10m pa.
Paul also had ownership of Product Management, leading the development of product strategy which increased revenues of his product line by 50% to $135m pa. He also worked as SVP of Product Development at Meridio, a subsidiary of Autonomy Inc, a company specialising in electronic document and records management.
Non-Executive Director - Deirdre Terrins
Deirdre has fifteen years corporate experience in managing new technology offerings and market creation. Her background in Siemens (Europe), Xerox, (US) is complemented by recent venture and change management roles in the US, UK and Asia. Deirdre has managed innovative product and process assignments in both public and private sectors. Her background in new product development includes successful introduction of ‘disruptive\' technologies and the creation of new markets.
Deirdre is also a director of MailDistiller Limited.
Non-Executive Director - Michael Crossey
Michael Crossey is currently Vice President of Marketing at Aepona, a leading provider of software products and solutions to telecommunications operators globally. Michael joined Aepona in June 2006 and is responsible for directing all of the company\'s marketing activities, including Strategic Marketing, Communications, Positioning and Market Intelligence.
Prior to Aepona, Michael held the position of VP Marketing and Business Development with Transmode, a Swedish pioneer of Optical Networking technology. During his tenure, Transmode grew from a start-up with a niche product offering to one of the world\'s leading suppliers of Metro WDM systems to Tier 1 and 2 telecommunications operators. Michael has almost 20 years experience in telecoms, 14 of which were spent with Nortel in a series of management positions spanning Product Marketing, Product Management, Market Development and Operations, latterly as the company\'s Director of Market Development, Optical Networks in Northern Europe. He holds Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science degrees from Queen\'s University, Belfast.
