Omiino management recognized an opportunity in the optical network transport market, born from an intrinsic understanding of network operator’s key requirements and frustrations.  They understood that the key to operators delivering an economically viable, high bandwidth future was to maximize the leverage of legacy networks in tandem with cost reduction, accelerated time-to-market and ease of adaptability of silicon based solutions.

Founded by a team of telecommunications and semiconductor specialists, Omiino began life mid-2007 with the objective of providing network providers with a “virtual” ASSP solution.  Building on a substantial and successful track record with international, high growth businesses such as Nortel, Connexant and Flextronics, the management team brought real products, with significant USPs, to the target market within 12 months of inception.

By specifically designing for FPGAs, Omiino develop and deliver ultra compact, ‘Virtual ASSP’s that redefine the price, performance, support and availability of conventional ASSPs, while retaining the time-to-market and programmability advantages of the FPGA.

Omiino continues to grow, now employing senior alumni from a number of blue chip companies and attracting significant interest from leading silicon suppliers and major network equipment vendors.
